I photoshopped my album advertisement poster into the NME magazine. NME is the kind of magazine it would be advertised in if it was to be advertised in any magazine. NME like new independent music so I feel that the kind of music would go well with the feel of the magazine. It largely focuses on music that nobody or next to nobody has ever heard of. By doing this, I am also able to see what my advert would like next to adverts of a similar genre.
I also photoshopped my album cover onto the Spotify recommendation page which would come up when I search for 'Vampire Weekend' who are a indie/pop band and have a similar sound to 'The Naked and Famous'. I thought it was important to see how my album cover would look when a member of my target audience plays it on the popular digital media application, iTunes. This application is extremely popular with my teenage target audience, as a majority of teenagers listen to music via sites such as iTunes and Spotify, and rent music instead of buying it, or actually buying it in CD form so I figured this would be the most popular way they view my album. Overall, I think it looks effective as the artist and album name are clear to the audience and it looks successful as not only a physical product , but a digital product available on iTunes.
I finally photoshopped the CD Cover onto the Last FM website, a website where people can 'like' artists and recommended artists come up on their profile home screen based on the artists they have 'liked'. The internet and sites such as this help independent artists and bands to become more popular by their target audience, therefore I wanted to see what my CD cover would look like in this context.
